Astoria Free University is in the founding stage. All information on this site is subject to rapid change as the purposes and policies of the
university are formed.
The purpose of the university is to provide a means to connect people who want to teach with those that want to learn. All instruction will be
provided by volunteers. Any costs, such as books or materials, associated with instruction should be kept to a minumum.
The university will not support distance or online learning. Courses will be conducted as tutorials, seminars or study groups.
Volunteers

Administration
Of course, volunteering as an instructor or student is the best way to support the university.
Students
Anyone may apply to any course for which they satisfy the requirements. Although Astoria Free University does not charge any fees or allow instuctors
to accept payment, there may be material requirements for a course, the cost of which will be borne by the student.
Astoria Free University does not endorse any instructor. It is the responsibility of all participants ensure that all meetings are conducted
safely.
Instructors
Anyone may enter a course offering. Instructors are not allowed to take payment for instruction offered through Astoria Free University,
nor may the site be used to offer free instruction with the intention of this leading to paid instructions. Instructors should attempt to
provide instruction that requires minimal costs for students.
Astoria Free University does not vet any students. It is the responsibility of all participants ensure that all meetings are conducted
safely.
Administration
Bursar |
As the Astoria Free University takes no tuition or fees from students and provides no pay to instructors, there are few financial
concerns. Currently the only expense for Astoria Free University is the maintenance of this website.
